When people only talk to you because they want something from you. Hey man, f you. I can see what's going on here.

I JUST GOT BLOCKED ON FB BECAUSE IM SUCH A VIOLATOR.. FOR ALL MY FRIENDS..

Read on:

I’m going to put it out there. I’m feeling a bit used. I’m too convenient. And it’s making me feel super cheap.

I’m a very generous person right. I’m very giving. I really just want everyone to have a good time and to have incredibly fond memories of me. Let’s face it right, who wants to be known as a “shit” human.

I’m a club promoter. Actually scrap that. I’m a Marco Polo promoter (head promoter actually if you want to know just how important I am....jks babe...) and it’s an event that rivals any other. For one, it’s at ivy Pool Club and secondly, it’s a summer Sunday party. I love it. I wholeheartedly throw myself into the brand and I do everything and anything you can imagine possible to make it better. I am 110% committed.

I throw out about 2000 Facebook statuses a day, I’m constantly messaging friends telling them to come down, consistently harassing my team to do the same and as a result, pissing off every single person on my friends list. Despite this, they still come.

So it’s worth it for me…my eyes are dollar signs…cha-ching! (NB: I had my 21st birthday party a month early at the MP closing party because I knew I would make money off it… that’s the kind of person I am… I'M ALL BUSINESS BABY!)

The truth is that as a promoter, I can be everyone’s most hated and most loved friend on Facebook. I can get a certain amount of people in for free each week, can occasionally get free drink cards and use my trusty Marco Polo captain card to get 50% off, which seemingly makes me very popular.

I’m not immune the snakes that abuse this friendship. I’m all for giving those few individuals that introduce themselves and like to party free entry and a few cheap drinks, that’s fine, but what really, “gets my goat”, is those people that just expect it for nothing in return. I mean seriously, how hard it is to say, “Hey! I’ve seen you around. My name is blah-blah. How have you been?”

In conclusion, (and back to my point of me feeling like a used dishwashing rag) stop messaging me when you want free entry for nothing in return. You can have it when you become something more than a Facebook friend.

It’s really quite possible that there are people reading this thinking that I’m being completely hypocritical seeing as I will go into the city for a night out and come home without having paid for a thing, but I’m friends with a lot of people, (plus I'm a chick) and the industry is all about give and take.

Oh and P.S, contrary to popular belief, I don’t work for The Usual Suspects. I can’t help you there. You may want to hit up Elliott Armour or Will Williams for that...

WRITING.

I suck at getting dressed. No really, I do. It takes me a really long time to choose my outfit, do my makeup and my hair, but what takes even more time is finding the motivation to even bother getting dressed. I’m super lazy. I’m lazy and incredibly distracted. I will spend countless hours refreshing my newsfeed on my Facebook, checking my instagram, reblogging numerous images on tumblr, and scrolling through fashion blogs waiting for something else to happen even though I know nothing will, just because I can’t be assed to NOT do it.

But it’s true! I want to be bothered to do “stuff”, but I just can’t be bothered to be bothered! Hence why it takes me so long to get ready…there’s just too much happening on FB... and by “too much” I mean nothing at all.

I think my vanity is the epicentre of all the chaotic insecurities and problems in my world. I pretty much can’t do anything unless I feel like I look good. And if I don’t look good, face or outfit, I usually prefer to stay home and do nothing.

There are even times when I’ll spend an hour getting ready and then right at the very last minute decide not to go. That tiny, stupid, inkling and shadow of self-doubt puts me in a negative mind-set and keeps me at home.

This could be a massive generalisation, but I’m pretty sure this isn’t what solely happens to me, but what happens to a lot of our generation too. Generation lazy & vain…and there I go, sounding like my mum and dad.

And at the risk of sounding like a current affairs show on free to air TV, I think it’s our social media lifestyle to blame. Ironic, considering I have chosen to venture down the path of social media as a career choice, and even more ironic as I am writing about this on a blog.

Even so, as much as I like to bitch and moan about this, I don’t think I could give it up. I’m addicted to pretty much every social media phenomenon there is. Are we really becoming an anti-social generation? If anything, we’re more social and just incredibly tech-savvy.

In saying this, it really pisses me off when you’re out to dinner with friends and everyone’s texting their irrespective partners because they can’t live without each other for five minutes, so maybe it’s just a case of knowing our manners.

Generations before us say that we’re fucked up because of our twittering ways but I don’t think this is right. We’re just different. The world is changing and heading in the direction of social media, people need to accept it and stop being so reluctant to change.
